We are very happy to tell all our friends from far and wide that we hope soon to be able to announce new dates for the Effda show.

You will know that we took the decision to hold over Effda following the tragic events of 9/11and whilst the inclination of us all, whether exporter, importer, manufacturer, supplier or even exhibition organiser was to stay at home during that terrible time we know also that we have now to move on.

Thus we are pleased to tell you that we are planning Effda to return to the event calendar for late Autumn 2005. Those of you who are interested in exhibiting please let us know. We shall keep in touch as our plans are confirmed.

We shall of course be updating this section of the web site in due course but for the present the existing content is still relevent.

The 2nd Ethnic Furniture Fabrics and Decorative Arts Show

and NOW incorporating for the first time

The Ethnic Jewellery Show

London 24 - 26 October 2003

Effda 2003 - will expand horizons and create new business by building on the success of Effda 2001

Effda 2001 was the first ever trade exhibition of its kind to take place in the UK or mainland Europe. Devoted exclusively to the world of ethnic furniture fabrics and decorative artefacts it was specifically designed to be the best possible showcase for overseas manufacturers, craftspeople and artisans, and for UK and European importers, wholesalers and agents who specialise in bringing their products into this exciting market.

Take a look at our photo gallery of Effda 2001. We hope you enjoy them, but more to the point, hope they encourage you to take a serious look at joining us at Effda 2003. You will be in the best of company. And to be sure of best position, book your stand early - like NOW!

What's new at Effda 2003?

Consumers, Consumers, Consumers…

The exciting news for exhibitors to next years Effda show is that it is to attract the buying attention of both trade AND the general public. Why? Because in such a fragmented industry it is the UK consumer who is driving the trade and an Effda open for business to the general public will be a real bonus for our exhibitors.

Opening Effda 2003 to the public buying audience is a major development that will be welcomed by exhibitors. They will see this as both an opportunity to recover some of the exhibiting costs, whilst also knowing their products are finding their way into homes, offices, shops and other areas giving greater exposure and advertising to their crafts.

Consumers will have the opportunity to purchase for cash whilst trade buyers, who may well also wish to purchase stock for cash, will obviously also be seeking to develop longer-term business relationships with exhibitors.

Greater home ownership, greater disposable incomes, and an ever increasing willingness on behalf of the population of the United Kingdom to travel further and further afield and what do you get? You get buyers. People of all ages, who are excited by the idea of complementing their present home furnishings with ethnic furniture and accessories to add vibrant exciting contrast. It's colourful, and it's so different.

You want to sell - they want to buy! Where better to meet than at Effda 2003?

The Ethnic Jewellery Show

Also new for Effda 2003 is The Ethnic Jewellery Show. In the same way that every country has a handicraft industry peculiar to itself, so every country has its own jewellery industry and here in the west, whether for formal or day to day wear, there is great interest and huge demand.

New designs, different metals, precious and semi-precious gem stones in new and highly original designs and settings; bangles bracelets and chains, rings and brooches, earrings and necklaces; antique and modern; gold, silver, beads, wood. The list is endless and if you are a manufacturer, exporter, wholesaler or importer of such items then the Ethnic Jewellery Show should be a priority.

The Ethnic Jewellery Show will have its own identity and its own space in the hall and a visitor marketing campaign designed to capture not just the imagination of the trade buyers but also the consumer, young and not so young. This is a great new opportunity for manufacturers, exporters and designers from afar to seek new contacts and business opportunities as it is for the UK's wholesalers and retailers.

Are you a manufacturer, craftsman or exporter from afar, or an importer or wholesaler from the UK? If you are working with traditional and craft based furniture, fabrics or decorative artefacts and jewellery, from whichever of the continents; there is a place at Effda 2003 for you.
